NRCC Weekly Rundown: Deranged Dems still obsessed with impeachment
Here’s this week’s
edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:
(National)
House
Democrats have stepped in it, now explicitly fundraising off of impeachment for their most
vulnerable members. This comes as recent polling shows more than
two-thirds of voters (especially in battleground districts) think the
Democrats’ impeachment charade is all about politics and wish lawmakers would
be more concerned about addressing the issues of the day. Case in point: so far this
Congress, House Dems have issued more subpoenas (56) than
bills that have become law (46). This isn’t surprising considering the
socialist Democrats have always prioritized their deranged efforts to remove President
Trump from office over listening to voters.
(AZ-01) Leaders agree that passing the USMCA would be
a huge boost for folks in Arizona’s First
Congressional District, but timid Tom O’Halleran has been silent on the trade agreement since August.
Maybe that’s because O’Halleran (who put out threedifferentstatements clarifying his pro-impeachment
stance) is one of those socialist Democrats who two-thirds of voters think is too
obsessed with removing President Trump from office to actually get
anything done. Sad!
(CA-21) Corrupt TJ Cox’sproblems just keep adding up! A new report by
the Fresno Bee details how the California
socialist is struggling to raise money in his own district. Now TJ has
to worry about money AND going to jail. Yikes!
(CA-45) Katie Porterannounced her plan to endorseSen. Elizabeth Warren and her
insane socialist agenda for president last night. This comes as no surprise
considering the extreme duo both want to abolish private health insurance and
raise taxes. PS: CA-45 is an R+3 district.
(CA-48) Harley Rouda penned an op-ed for the LA Daily
News last weekend in which he obsessed over impeaching the President… again.
In fact, it’s allHarley talks about! He droned on
about impeachment on Don Lemon last week, and on The Last Word With Lawrence O’Donnell and Weekends With Alex Witt the week before that. Harley
sure is feeding the beast for someone who complains about cable news’ constant
impeachment coverage…
(FL-26, 27) Florida Reps. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and Donna
Shalala are demanding Congress fully fund efforts to
defend democracy in Venezuela. But just a few months ago, Debbie and
Donna voted with their party AGAINST a bipartisan motion to condemn socialism as the cause of the crisis
in Venezuela. The motion failed by TWO votes. Looking at you, Donna and
Debbie!
(IL-06) Sean Castenthrew a temper tantrum this week over the
House’s vote to censure Adam Schiff for his deranged attempt to remove
President Trump from office. Schiff was recently called out by The Washington Post for
lying about speaking directly to the whistleblower and literally making up quotes from President Trump in
his committee hearings. Casten’schildish hissy fit is rich considering two-thirds of voters think he isn’t
accomplishing anything because he’s too obsessed with the baseless impeachment
of President Trump.
(IL-17) Cheri “Beltway” Bustos thinks “everybody just needs to be patient” while she
and her deranged party attempt to remove President Trump from office.
Meanwhile, in Illinois, farmers have been struggling for months while Beltway Bustos
obsesses over the partisan shenanigans in Washington. Her response? Just be patient!
(MI-06) This weeksocialistJon Hoadley strangely
boasted about receiving an endorsement from Brand New Congress,
an organization that is currently under federal investigation. Along with its
sister organization, Justice Democrats, Brand New Congress is
accused of transferring over $1 million in political donations to private companies
controlled by AOC’s former Chief of Staff to skirt campaign finance
laws. Yikes! Jon should be a little more careful about the company he
keeps…
(NE-02) Comrade Kara Eastman also touted the endorsement she received from Brand New
Congress, an organization linked to socialist darling Alexandria
Ocasio-Cortez that is currently under investigation for an “elaborate
scheme to avoid proper disclosure of campaign expenditures.” Perhaps Comrade
Kara should be a bit pickier about her socialist friends. Then again, considering her
latest campaign finance report revealed she has
just $67,023 cash on hand, she needs all the help she can get!
(NH-01) Chris Pappas continues to show New Hampshire voters what a
hypocrite he is, now refusing to denounce the latest round of dark money spending on
his behalf. Pappas has repeatedly touted his efforts to get rid
of dark money groups, but has stayed silent while they spend millions to
benefit his reelection efforts. Apparently, Pappas doesn’t have a problem with
dark money as long as it’s promoting him and his socialist agenda!
(NY-19) Antonio Delgado has called passing the USMCA “an urgent matter,” but
instead of delivering trade relief to NY-19 farmers and manufacturers, Delgado
and his socialist colleagues have been focusing on removing President
Trump from office. And voters agree, with recent polling showing that more than
two-thirds of voters think the Democrats’ obsession with impeachment is all
about politics and wish they’d be more concerned about addressing the issues
voters actually care about.
(NY-21) Tedra Cobb’s fledgling campaign is already in free fall! Fresh off a secret fundraising trip to
Washington, DC, the suddenly camera-shy Cobb is getting
primaried by embattled Clinton County Legislator Simon Conroy. It’s a
troubling sign for Cobb that despite Conroy’s recent legal
troubles, he still thinks he’d be a better candidate than
her. Cobb will fail in 2020 just as she did in 2018. Upstate voters
have no time for her socialist agenda!
(PA-17) President Trump was in Pittsburgh this week discussing American
energy independence and went out of his way to blast Conor Lamb, telling the
crowd, “He never votes with me…Conor Lamb wants to take away your
guns…he never votes with us.”Thepresident’s comments are a
good reminder that despite representing a district President Trump
carried in 2016, Conor Lamb has gone all in on the Democrats’ socialist agenda!

comments.
(TX-28) Back in September, NRCC Chairman Tom EmmeridentifiedHenry Cuellar as the
most vulnerable Democrat in Texas, and boy was he right! Just days after
Emily’s List endorsedCuellar’s socialist
opponent, de facto Speaker Alexandria Ocasio-Cortezthrew her weight behind Jessica Cisneros.
AOC joins other notable liberals who’ve endorsed Cisneros, which
puts her squarely at odds with Nancy Pelosi and DCCC Chair Cheri
Bustos, who have pledged to support Cuellar. Pull
up a chair and grab some popcorn because this socialist showdown is just getting started!
(WI-03) Vice President Mike Pence put Ron Kindon blast this week after he doubled down on his deranged obsession with
impeachment, calling him out for stalling the USMCA trade deal while Wisconsin
farmers suffer. Unfortunately for WI-03, Kind’s top priority is removing
President Trump from office – not helping his constituents. That’s why
he’s going to lose next November!
News & Notes
Mucarsel-Powell and Shalala called “frauds” over Venezuela
…
The NRCC continues to highlight Mucarsel-Powell’s every move, pushing one of
The Floridian’s stories where Mucarsel-Powell and other Florida House
Democrats, Reps. Stephanie Murphy, Debbie Wasserman Schultz, Donna Shalala, and
Darren Soto, “banded together” to call on the Republican-controlled Senate and
the Democratic-controlled House of Representatives to “fully fund” the effort
that defends democracy in embattled Venezuela.
NRCC Spokeswoman Camille Gallo quipped at the Democratic ask, stating “This is
rich. Debbie Mucarsel-Powell and Donna Shalala are demanding Congress fully
fund efforts to defend democracy in Venezuela, but just a few months ago,
Debbie and Donna voted with their party against a bipartisan motion to condemn
socialism as the cause of the crisis in Venezuela.”
Gallo was referring to the July 25, 2019, Venezuelan TPS measure that failed by
two votes, saying that “Debbie and Donna voted with their party against a
bipartisan motion to condemn socialism as the cause of the crisis in
Venezuela.” READ.
House Democrats’ Campaign Arm Directly Ties Its Moderate Members to
Impeachment
A new mailer sent by the Democratic Party’s House campaign arm directly ties
some of the party’s most vulnerable members to the impeachment proceedings
against President Donald Trump, creating the potential for political potholes
for those members down the road.
The mailer, which was obtained by The Daily Beast, pleads with donors to
contribute to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee to help support
so called “Frontliner” members who hail from key swing districts.
…
But in trying to gin up donations off of the impeachment proceedings, the
campaign committee has taken a notable gamble. The frontline members in the
party are precisely the ones most publicly skittish about pursuing Trump’s
impeachment—arguing, often, that it is a solemn responsibility or even a grave
step that is fraught with political risk. That message could be complicated by
the fact that the House Democratic campaign arm is now raising money explicitly
for them and explicitly off of impeachment. READ.
AOC Defies Pelosi, DCCC with Texas Endorsement
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D., N.Y.) has endorsed another liberal
challenger looking to unseat an incumbent House Democrat backed by party
leadership.
Ocasio-Cortez endorsed progressive Jessica Cisneros in her primary challenge
against Rep. Henry Cuellar (D., Tex.), citing Cisneros’s status as a
“strong new ally in the fight for Medicare for All.” Cisneros is
supported by Justice Democrats, the same progressive group that backed
Ocasio-Cortez and Rep. Ilhan Omar (D., Minn.) in 2018.
Ocasio-Cortez’s endorsement marks another act of defiance toward Democratic
leadership. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) and Democratic
Congressional Campaign Committee chairwoman Cheri Bustos (D., Ill.) have
endorsed Cuellar. READ.
Joe Biden said in 1998 that Clinton impeachment could be seen as ‘partisan
lynching’
(CNN) – Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden on Tuesday denounced
President Donald Trump’s comparison of the ongoing impeachment inquiry to a
“lynching,” but in a 1998 interview, the then-senator from Delaware
also invoked the term in reference to impeachment.
“Impeachment is not ‘lynching,’ it is part of our Constitution,” the
former vice president said in a tweet on Tuesday. “Our country has a dark,
shameful history with lynching, and to even think about making this comparison
is abhorrent. It’s despicable.”
In an appearance on CNN in October 1998, however, Biden said the impending
impeachment proceedings against then-President Bill Clinton could be viewed as
a “partisan lynching.” READ.
