NRCC Weekly Rundown: Socialist House Dems still on defense
Here’s this week’s
edition of the NRCC Weekly Rundown:
(National) No matter who the Democrats nominate for president, they’ll
be stuck defending the extreme socialist agenda their party has embraced. In
fact, the Democrats’ socialist agenda is so unpopular among the American
people, a new Gallup poll shows GOP congressional approval at a 15 year high. Click HERE to watch the NRCC’snew video detailing what’s at stake ahead of
Election Day 2020.
(National) Nancy Pelosi and the socialist House Democrats this week
proudly held a press conference commemorating their disastrous legislation, H.R. 1. It’s a good
reminder that for their first legislative act in the majority, the socialist
Democrats decided to give each of their campaigns $5 million in public cash. It doesn’t get any
more asinine than that!
(CA-21) In case you missed it, TJ Cox voted to block a resolution that would require
him to garnish his own wages to pay off his $145,000 tax lien. I guess TJ
doesn’t want to pay the taxes he owes the
American people!
(FL-26) Debbie Mucarsel-Powell endorsedJoe Biden for President
on Twitter this week. This means Debbie owns Joe Biden’s socialist
agenda which includes raising taxes, eliminating private health insurance and
a complete government takeover of the economy. Just
further proof Debbie will always side with the socialists in Washington,
not South Floridians.
(GA-06) Lucy McBath endorsedJoe Biden for President.
This comes after her first choice, Mike Bloomberg, whose financial relationship
with McBath is the cause of an ethics complaint, dropped out. Now Lucy is on board with Joe
Biden’s socialist agenda which includes raising taxes, eliminating private health insurance
and free health care for illegal immigrants.
(Iowa) A new poll from the Des Moines Register shows Republicans leading
in each of Iowa’s congressional districts. Iowans prefer the GOP candidate in
IA-01 by 3 points, in IA-02 by 8 points and by 1 point in IA-03, putting
Republicans in position to flip all three seats in November. Guess the
Democrats’ socialist agenda doesn’t play well in the heartland! Click HERE to read the full poll.
(IA-03) Just wanted to remind you that Cindy Axne is still lying
to voters about her stance on accepting corporate money for her reelection
campaign. Click HERE to read more.
(NJ-02) The battle between Amy Kennedy and Brigid Harrison
over who will be the Democratic nominee in NJ-02 is damaging whatever chances they have of retaking
the seat. Here’s what local insiders had to say about
the current state of affairs: “The Dems are about to have a war, which will
result in a bloodied [and poorer] nominee,” and “This
weekend was the best possible outcome for Jeff
[Van Drew].” We couldn’t have said it any better ourselves!
(NY-11) Max Rose endorsedJoe Biden for president
(after his first choice, Mike Bloomberg, dropped out). Rose now
owns Biden’s socialist agenda which includes raising taxes on the middle class,
giving free health care to illegal immigrants and
backing a $93 trillion government takeover of the economy. Maybe
the New York Times was onto something? Rose
is all in with the socialist Democrats and sorely out of touch with NY-11.
(NY-22) Anthony Brindisi is a fraud who keeps betraying NY-22 voters. He has
misled NY-22 voters about his bogus “no corporate PAC” pledge and
backing impeachment, and he’s even
taking credit for other members’ work!
The list just keeps getting longer… Click HERE to read more.
(TX-07) As first reported
in Morning Score, a new
post-primary poll shows a tied race in TX-07, with Wesley Hunt and Lizzie
Fletcher each at 45%. Hunt starts the race with a very strong +17
net favorability, 11 points better than Fletcher. Even worse for Fletcher,
her reelect number is already nearly 1 to 1, with 42% saying they will
definitely vote for her and 41% saying it’s time for someone new. It’s clear
Texas voters are not sold on Lizzie Fletcher and her socialist agenda.

(TX-24) Disgraced war profiteer Kim Olson’s first instinct when
it came to the Coronavirus pandemic was to use it to raise campaign cash. In a bizarre email to
supporters with the subject line “COVID-19,” Olson launched a lengthy
attack on President Trump before calling for “unity,” and then asking
for campaign donations. This is the same candidate who asked folks to give money to her campaign instead of those in
need on Giving Tuesday. How tone deaf can one disgraced war profiteer get?
News & Notes
Des Moines Register: Iowa Poll: Republican Party holds edge in all Iowa
congressional districts
Republicans seeking a seat in the U.S. House of Representatives hold an
advantage in each of Iowa’s four congressional districts, according to the
latest Des Moines Register/Mediacom Iowa Poll.
In each district, more likely voters say they’ll vote for a generic Republican
over a generic Democrat, though in none does the Republican hold a clear
majority of support.
The poll, conducted by Selzer & Co., did not name specific House
candidates. Rather, it asked, “If the elections for the U.S. House of
Representatives were being held today, which party’s candidate would you vote
for in your congressional district?” and gave respondents a choice between
the Republican and Democratic candidate.
If the numbers hold to the general election, it would be a stark reversal of
Democratic fortunes. Democrats flipped two Republican seats in 2018 to hold the
majority of Iowa’s congressional districts for the first time since the
redistricting that followed the 2010 census. READ.
The Quad-City Times: New poll shows GOP advantage in 2nd Congressional
District race
Republicans hold an early advantage in the race for Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District,
according to a new Des Moines Register/Mediacom poll.
The poll found 49% of respondents in the district preferred a generic
Republican to 41% who said they preferred a generic Democrat.
Conducted by Selzer & Co. and reported by the Register, the poll did not
name specific candidates. “If the elections for the U.S. House of
Representatives were being held today, which party’s candidate would you vote
for in your congressional district?” the poll asked. Respondents then
chose between the Republican or Democrat.
Iowa’s Second Congressional District has been held by U.S. Rep. Dave Loebsack
since 2006. Loebsack, a Democrat, will retire at the end of his term, in early
2021. READ.
The Washington Free Beacon: CA Dem Who Owes $145,000 in Back Taxes Blocks
Tax Lien Disclosure Law
A California Democrat who owes nearly $145,000 in unpaid federal income taxes
voted on Wednesday to block a bill requiring members of Congress to disclose
tax liens.
The IRS filed a tax lien against Rep. T.J. Cox (D., Calif.) in January, listing
nearly $87,000 and $57,000 in unpaid federal income taxes from 2016 and 2017,
respectively. The congressman on Wednesday voted to block legislation that
would force politicians to reveal such liens in congressional financial
disclosures. The bill would also garnish federal wages from elected officials
until the debt is resolved.
The vote comes as Cox faces a tough reelection fight in 2020 against former
California Republican representative David Valadao, who Cox defeated by less
than 1 point in the closest congressional race of 2018. While election
observers, including the Cook Political Report, rate the 21st Congressional
District as “lean Democratic,” Republicans have seen positive signs
that they will be able to flip the district following the March primary.
California has open primaries in which the two candidates with the most votes,
regardless of party, face off in the general election. Valadao received 53
percent of the primary vote, compared with Cox’s 36 percent.
The Valadao campaign rebuked Cox for his vote in a comment to the Washington
Free Beacon, accusing the Democrat of prioritizing his bank account over his
official duties.
“T.J. Cox owes the IRS over $140,000 in taxes and now is using his vote in
Congress to protect himself,” said campaign manager Andrew Renteria.
“T.J. has proven time and again that voters can’t trust him because he’s
willing to put his own personal financial interests ahead of voters in the
Central Valley.” READ
