VIDEO: Smith doubles down on reducing teacher salaries

During a Zoom tele-town hall with campaign supporters last night Christy Smith doubled down on voting to reduce teacher pay as a school board member.

Smith explained: 

“Another thing we did to cope financially during those times was go back to the bargaining table with our teachers and the classified employee units and negotiated, which was allowed by state order at that point, a five day reduction in the school year again in order to meet costs for the entire year and so subsequently that did have a corresponding reduction in pay for all of our staff…”
