LA Times endorses politician over combat veteran, citing lack of experience

In case you missed it last week, the LA Times endorsed Christy Smith instead of Mike Garcia citing Mike Garcia doesn’t have the “experience” for the job.

Seriously. That was their reasoning. 

The LA Times endorsed a lifelong politician who has a documented history of lying to voters to get elected over a decorated navy fighter pilot who led combat missions. 

I wonder if the 96 members who also bravely served in the military would agree that a “nice backstory” (like fighting for your country) isn’t enough requisite experience to serve in Congress?
