PAGING THE OFFICE OF CONGRESSIONAL ETHICS

July 1, 2020

Matt Cartwright flouted an ongoing ethics investigation to vote today in favor of a provision that would be a financial boon to his wife’s law firm.

Cartwright is currently under investigation for introducing legislation to raise the mandatory liability insurance for truck drivers while also holding a multimillion-dollar financial stake in his family law firm that specializes in truck accident-related lawsuits.

But despite Cartwright’s well publicized self-interest in the issue, he voted in favor of H.R. 2 which contains a provision that raises the required liability insurance for truck drivers from $750,000 to $2 million.

With swampy votes like this, it’s no wonder Crooked Cartwright’s net worth has increased 140% since being elected.
