Jumping off a sinking ship

House Democrats are starting to realize their majority is doomed. 

The Washington Post reports a growing list of House Democrats, mostly competitive districts, are likely or already headed for the exits:  

1. Cheri Bustos (IL-17)
2. Tim Ryan (OH-13)
3. Conor Lamb (PA-17)
4. Ann Kirkpatrick (AZ-02)
5. Filemon Vela (TX-34)
6. Charlie Crist (FL-13)
7. Stephanie Murphy (FL-07)
8. Val Demings (FL-10)
9. Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06)
10. Vicente Gonzalez (TX-15)

And who can blame them?

Democrats’ campaign arm blew their best chance to pad their slim House majority this weekend when they got shut out of the runoff in TX-06, a district targeted by the DCCC last cycle that President Trump carried by 3 points.

The DCCC did not spend money in TX-06 – but they’ve been lighting their money on fire in much more creative ways: 

1. The DCCC spent $500,000 on false attack ads tying Republicans to QAnon two years out from the election.
2. The DCCC spent $1,400,000 on an ill-fated attempt to steal an election in Iowa’s Second Congressional District.
3. The DCCC spent an undisclosed amount on a billboard in Orlando attacking Republicans who do not represent Orlando.
