John Deere can’t find employees
Cindy Axne argued Congress needed to pass Nancy Pelosi’s $1.9 trillion “American Rescue Plan” because unemployment was too high.
But the bill Axne voted for is paying many Americans more money not to work than they would make working.
Now John Deere, which offers employees a starting hourly wage of $19, can’t find enough workers to meet the current demand.
Ronald Cox, director of Iowa State University’s Center for Industrial Research and Service told the Des Moines Register this problem likely goes far beyond John Deere, saying, “People leave other companies to go work for Deere. If Deere is having problems, it’s much broader than them.”
