Shady Shalala strikes again!
The Miami Herald is reporting that the University of Miami has reached a settlement agreement with the Justice Department for fraudulently billing millions to the Medicare program even after federal regulators had caught UM hiding the higher charges from patients.
And guess who was President of UM during this time? Shady Donna Shalala who willfully broke federal law repeatedly before she was fired from Congress.
The article details a whistleblower, who Shalala forced out of the school after they “accused the university of filing false claims with Medicare… during a period when UM was struggling with massive debt after undertaking an ambitious transformation of the medical school into a sprawling academic healthcare system under Shalala.”
The report also states, “Shalala’s role as UM’s former president during the expansion of the university’s medical school and healthcare …was a factor into the former employees’ claims.”
As Donna Shalala eyes running for Congress again, its clear South Floridians can’t trust shady Shalala.
