Border Patrol isn’t just dealing with a record number of illegal migrants crossing the U.S.-Mexico border by land. Reif Smith, acting director of marine operations, says, “This last year was a record-breaking year for human smuggling on the water here in Southern California. So it’s a problem that doesn’t seem to be ending.”

But despite there being “a problem that doesn’t seem to be ending,” Kamala Harris (who represented California as a U.S. Senator) and Democrats won’t come see the border crisis for themselves.
