Temperatures are soaring at the U.S.-Mexico border, but migrant crossings aren’t declining.

Customs and Border Protection has reported 7,000 rescues during Fiscal Year 2021, up 35% from 2020.

Brandon Judd, president of the National Border Patrol Council, said “nobody should be surprised this is happening,” and “smugglers have enticed more people to come to the U.S. under President Biden, so more people are dying.”

Recent polling shows it’s not just migrants and smugglers who think the Biden Administration’s policies are more lenient. 68% of registered voters “believe signals from Biden’s White House are encouraging illegal immigration.”
