WSJ: Some Police Push Back on Bail Reform, Citing Wave of Killings
Law enforcement officials across the country are pushing back on Democrats’ anti-police agenda that has allowed criminals back on the streets and “contributed to a surge in crime,” the Wall Street Journal reports.
Across the country, police officers and other critics say cashless bail laws have “made the streets less safe” as they make it easier for suspects to be released from jail while they await trial.
They’re asking judges “to get tougher” – but in New York, the controversial law makes it nearly impossible for judges to set bail, even for hate crimes.
