Does the Build Back Better polling concern California Democrats?
The NRCC today released a memo outlining its latest internal polling of battleground districts.
In battleground districts, like John Garamendi, Ami Bera, Josh Harder, Jim Costa, Raul Ruiz, Katie Porter and Mike Levin’s, “Build Back Better” is already toxic with voters.
When asked “would you say you support or oppose President Biden’s new spending package also known as Build Back Better,” a plurality (46%) say they are opposed, and only 39% support.
After learning about the damaging policies within the package—including massive taxpayer-funded payouts to illegal immigrants, tax hikes on the middle-class and money to fund 87,000 new IRS agents to spy on Americans’ bank accounts – opposition reaches 57% with only 37% supporting.
Additionally, the New York Times reports Build Back Better is likely not fully paid for, as Democrats have claimed for months.
NRCC Comment: “Voters want nothing to do with Democrats’ massive tax hikes, reckless spending, and taxpayer-funded giveaways to illegal immigrants. If vulnerable California Democrats vote for Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi’s big government tax and spending spree, they’ll lose.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair
