All eyes on South Texas Republicans
All eyes are on South Texas ahead of the 2022 midterms:
The Texas Observer reports that Republicans are typically a “non-factor outside of some local races,” but “will be fighting hard for Valley voters too after the area swung toward Trump in his second presidential bid.”
Politico reports that the influx of Hispanic women in prevalent GOP roles in South Texas is “some of the clearest evidence that Trump’s 2020 performance there may not have been an anomaly, but rather a sign of significant Republican inroads among Texas Hispanics.
NRCC COMMENT: “The reasons South Texas is trending Republican are simple: Democrats refuse to secure the border, want to defund the police, advanced an anti-oil and gas agenda, and support spending sprees that have caused the price of everyday goods to skyrocket.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair
