Kim disses Malinowski
February 11, 2022
Does Andy Kim have a vendetta against Tom Malinowski? It seems so.
Kim went on a tear against members of Congress like Tom Malinowski who own and trade individual stocks.
You have to wonder if Kim was thinking of a certain congressional stock trading poster boy when he gave some of these quotes:
- “A lot of them are concerned that public servants are looking out for themselves rather than the best interests of the American people. They’re worried that public servants are pushing personal and political gain over what we swear an oath to.”
- “What I’m trying to do here is set a high bar that would remove some of this doubt and try to show the American people that we can have a government where they don’t have to worry that people are in there to profit for themselves.”
- “Being a member of Congress is a full-time job. We should not be doing other jobs on the side. The American people need to know we’re 100% percent focused on our work.”
And most notably as #TradingTom touts his blind trust:
- “Members can know what’s in their blind trusts. All you do is ship what you own to a blind trust. You can take actions to benefit what you know is in there.”
