SoCal gas prices still rising
March 23, 2022
While gas prices are beginning to decline across the country, they’re still on the rise in California – even reaching a record $6 a gallon average in Los Angeles.
Why?
- “California’s high emission standards require a cleaner, more expensive mix of gas, which refineries outside of the state aren’t necessarily producing on a regular basis,” according to the Bay Area News Group.
- The publication also reported California has “higher taxes for environmental regulations and infrastructure.”
