WATCH: Hayes slammed as “thin-skinned” back home after racial remarks
Jahana Hayes’ most recent scandal was a hot topic on WTNH’s Capitol Report this weekend after Hayes dismissed Black Republican George Logan as “just another African American” last week.
Former Senate Minority Leader John McKinney had some choice words for Hayes:
“I thought Representative Hayes had stepped in it when she said she wasn’t a Congressman…this statement is crazy.”
“She’s just insulted every ‘white liberal’ in the 5th Congressional District, assuming they voted for her based on the color of her skin. They didn’t do that. They voted for her because she had tremendous promise to be an excellent Congresswoman. We have yet to see that.”
“I guess I’m surprised at how thin-skinned the Congresswoman is. It’s really surprising. Washington DC is a tough place. Politics is a tough business. You got to toughen up.”
