PPIC polling: How Californians view Joe Biden

June 8, 2022

As Joe Biden heads to Los Angeles today, here’s a reminder that even voters in deep blue California are unhappy with the president.

Polling conducted by the Public Policy Institute of California from May 12 to 22 found:

  • Only 48% of likely California voters approve of the job President Biden is doing.
  • Jobs, the economy and inflation are the important issues to voters.
  • 50% of likely voters believe California is heading in the wrong direction (62% of Independent voters are pessimistic).
  • Two-thirds of Californians say rising prices are causing hardship for their households.

NRCC COMMENT: “Joe Biden and Democrats are responsible for the financial strain facing millions of Californians. Voters are fed up and will send Republicans to Congress in November.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair
