Cartwright votes for taxpayer-funded migrant flights
Matt Cartwright just voted against an amendment that would prohibit DHS from using taxpayer funds to fly illegal immigrants to other parts of the country.
This comes after months of uproar in NEPA regarding “ghost flights” carrying migrants to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton airport.
Cartwright previously failed to clarify whether he knew the flights were headed to his district but did say: “These are legitimate concerns and we’ve been looking into it.”
NRCC Comment: “Matt Cartwright has no desire to address his constituents’ concerns over illegal immigrants being flown into Scranton – in fact, he now wants Northeastern Pennsylvanians to foot the bill for the ghost flights they’ve been worried about.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Samantha Bullock
