Did Vicente Gonzalez have control over blog calling Rep. Flores “Miss Frijoles?”

Yesterday, Telemundo asked Rep. Vicente Gonzalez why he was paying a blogger who wrote sexually derogatory, racist, and anti-immigrant posts about Rep. Mayra Flores. 

Gonzalez responded: “The best thing would have been for that not to have been on that blog, right? And that obviously will never happen again.” 

But how would Vicente Gonzalez be able to guarantee this “will never happen again” unless he has editorial control of what the blogger posts? 

The blogger told NBC News he would not back down and will be “merciless with her (Flores).”
