ICYMI: Rep. Sean Patrick Maloney’s use of campaign funds for ex ‘body man’ raises ethics questions

The New York Post reports Sean Patrick Maloney’s use of official and campaign funds to hire a “body man” has raised red flags for ethics experts who question whether the aide performed “personal services.”

Former Democratic Chairwoman of the FEC Ann Ravel said: “It sounds like he was employed to do personal services,” and was stunned by the information surrounding Leath’s employment.

As former Dutchess County Democratic Chairwoman Elisa Sumner put it: “Sean Patrick Maloney has always used his office to benefit himself — not his voters. The Democratic Party needs leadership that actually puts Democratic principles first, instead of a self-serving politician.”
