Thousands of Western PA Democrats leaving for the GOP

Over 8,100 Democrats in Western Pennsylvania changed their voter registration to Republican from January 1 to July 25 this year, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

Less than one-third of that number made the change in the opposite direction, while Republicans have made similar gains with independents and third-party registrants.
