Maloney hit with ethics complaint over allegations of staff misuse
Sean Patrick Maloney just got hit with an ethics complaint over allegations he paid a staffer using campaign and House funds to perform personal services for him.
Former Dutchess County Democratic Committee chair Elisa Sumner filed the complaint with the Office of Congressional Ethics over his hiring of former “body man” Harold Leath, who “worked for both Maloney and his family in an amorphous capacity.”
This is not Maloney’s first ethics complaint.
NRCC Comment: “Sean Patrick Maloney habitually uses his office to advance his own interests and shows a blatant disregard for the law and the constituents he’s supposed to serve. Maloney has no business being in public office.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Samantha Bullock
