New poll: Dems’ “Inflation Reduction Act” is toxic for Cuellar
August 10, 2022
A new poll of Henry Cuellar’s constituents found certain provisions of Democrats’ latest reckless spending bill are wildly unpopular with voters.
- 54% of respondents said they’d be less likely to vote for Cuellar if he supports a bill that increases taxes on businesses and make inflation worse.
- 60% of respondents said they’d be less likely to vote for Cuellar if he supports a bill that gives wealthy families a $7,500 tax break to buy “luxury” electric cars.
- 50% of respondents said they’d be less likely to vote for Cuellar if he supports a bill that doubles the size of the IRS by hiring 80,000 more agents, without hiring a single new border patrol agent.
NRCC Comment: “If Henry Cuellar votes for this bill, he’ll have a tough time explaining to his constituents why he’s funding the IRS but not the Border Patrol.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Torunn Sinclair
