Maloney can’t relate

Sean Patrick Maloney thinks he can relate to New Yorkers struggling to afford groceries by telling them he used to be middle class and get his hair cut at home in his new ad.

But these days, Maloney is used to a more luxurious life where the rising costs of meat and eggs don’t affect him. In the last few years alone, Maloney:

• Forced the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office to pay nearly $8,000 in taxpayer money on his wedding security
• Vacationed in France on the DCCC’s dime (where he partied maskless despite warnings not to travel to France amid the pandemic)
• Spent nearly $30,000 in travel-related expenses while telling constituents to “stay home” during the pandemic
• Received nearly $20,000 in landscaping gifts for his “sprawling estate” for his wedding
• Had the DCCC drop $70,000 on flowers
