DCCC Chair flip-flips on outside help

In April, DCCC Chair Sean Patrick Maloney said of the GOP effort to beat him: “Bring it.”

Maloney also said “I don’t see a scenario” where he would need to spend party resources on his own race or divert attention from his mission of protecting Democrats’ majority.

The NRCC and CLF brought it, and now Maloney is changing his tune.

Maloney told NY1 he has decided to “recuse [himself] from any spending decisions involving [his] own race. [He’ll] let the professional staff handle that.”
