ICYMI: NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson gets Ruthless
NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson joined the Ruthless podcast this morning to discuss his plans to grow the Republican House majority. Plus, the Chairman discussed his reaction to President Biden’s disastrous State of the Union address.
Some highlights:
Chairman Hudson on Why Democrats Are Out of Touch: “The American people are hurting and they’re scared. Your average household out there paid an extra $10,000 over the last two years because of inflation. I mean, that’s real money. And you know, the Democrats are talking about a whole lot of other stuff and not talking about what people care about. You know, we’ve got people in every community in America dying from fentanyl poisoning. Yet, the Democrats refuse to talk about securing the border, they refuse to talk about making the analogs of all the different versions of it [fentanyl] all illegal… I mean, so I just think they’re out of touch.”
Chairman Hudson on Candidate Recruitment: “Let’s recruit people who look like America. Let’s recruit the best candidates we can get that have compelling life stories — veterans, women, minorities. We want our conference to reflect America, and we’ve had a lot of success. And so we’re gonna continue to do that. We’re gonna recruit the best candidates — build great organizations around them — and I believe we’re gonna pick up seats.”
Chairman Hudson on Biden’s State of the Union Address: “Bill Clinton gave us ‘I feel your pain.’ What we heard from Joe Biden last night is: ‘you don’t really feel your pain.’ A little bit different approach. Don’t believe your lying eyes, when you go to the grocery store, things are great… I mean, it was a stunning, just liberal panacea of I mean, you know, cradle to the grave, we’re gonna pay for everything. And then ignore the eight-hundred pound Chinese balloon in the room.”
