As Democrats move further to the left, Republicans are trying to bring common sense back to Washington

There’s no question the Democratic Party has moved far to the left in recent years, but its radicalization has become far more aggressive, to the point that the party is unrecognizable from two years ago.
Just over one month into the 118th Congress, House Democrats have shown the public who they really are: A number of them openly opposed a resolution condemning socialism, and all of them supported President Joe Biden’s plan to hire 87,000 new IRS agents who will undoubtedly go on to target the middle class and small businesses.
Even Democrats who claim to be centrist have downplayed the extremism from their own colleagues. For example, they have defended Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) repeatedly despite her antisemitic attacks.
…
On the same day, House Republicans also voted to condemn the horrors of socialism. Rather than join this effort, Jeffries said the quiet part out loud: He claimed the resolution would “undermine” House Democrats’ agenda. They are no longer even attempting to hide their plans to turn America into a socialist wasteland.
As crime rates soar across our country, House Democrats refused to condemn the decriminalization of violent offenses — including carjackings, home invasion burglaries, robberies, and even homicides — by Washington, D.C., voting against a resolution that would strike down the city council’s efforts to rewrite the city’s criminal code. They also turned their back on a basic tenet of democracy and backed a scheme allowing noncitizens to vote.
…
As Democrats continue to move to the left, House Republicans are pursuing a bold agenda that lowers inflation, reduces energy costs, secures America’s border, gives law enforcement the tools they need to keep our communities safe, empowers parents, and protects life. To most people, that sounds like common sense. But Democrats are dead-set against it.
As chairman of the National Republican Congressional Committee, it is my job to grow our House majority by exposing Democrats’ radical agenda. They are giving Republicans a lot to work with.
