NRCC Raises $25.8 Million in 1st Quarter to Grow GOP House Majority
The NRCC raised $25.8 million in the first quarter of 2023, including $14.7 million in March. This haul brings the organization’s cash on hand to $24 million as the Committee gears up to grow the House Republican majority in the 2024 election cycle.
“Money and message makes a majority, and the NRCC is sprinting out of the gates on both fronts. As we focus our efforts on recruiting top-flight candidates and building well-funded campaigns around them, we are building our war chest to tell the story of how the Republican majority is working for the American people.” – NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson (NC)
The NRCC began the cycle with $15 million in debt but finished the first quarter of 2023 with only $5.5 million remaining, having paid off $9.5 million over the first three months of the year and putting the committee on a strong financial footing for the cycle.
The NRCC’s $25.8 million raised for the first quarter included contributions from Republican leadership:
Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy (CA) transferred $7 million to the NRCC during the first quarter.
Majority Leader Steve Scalise (LA) transferred $3 million to the NRCC during the first quarter.
Majority Whip Tom Emmer (MN) transferred $585,000 to the NRCC during the first quarter.
GOP Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (NY) transferred $200,000 to the NRCC during the first quarter.
“Growing our majority is a team sport. Our team captains have gone above and beyond to lead by example. We are extremely grateful for their tireless and generous support.” – NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson
