Caraveo π€ fentanyl
Yadira Caraveo introduced a law that lowered the penalty for fentanyl possession in Colorado, which had effects so deadly it had to be reversed.
The law stated that 4 grams or less of fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, and other deadly substances would be a misdemeanor, even though just 2 milligrams of fentanyl is enough to kill a person.
Fentanyl overdose deaths in Colorado doubled in the two years following the passage of Caraveoβs law, and those numbers are rising. In 2022, the death toll exceeded 2021, with 920 Coloradoans tragically dying from fentanyl poisoning.
βExtreme Democrats like Yadira Caraveo have gone out of their way to make it easier for deadly drugs to remain on the streets, killing Coloradans. Shame on Caraveo for siding with drug cartels over her own suffering constituents.β β NRCC Spokeswoman Delanie Bomar
