Oregon lawmakers ban Val Hoyle practice of taking La Mota cash
June 16, 2023
Oregon state lawmakers last night voted to ban politicians from accepting campaign donations made with “stacks of cash” — something Val Hoyle is all too familiar with.
Hoyle accepted at least $20,000 in cash from La Mota executive Aaron Mitchell, who is reportedly under federal investigation.
Hoyle repaid her La Mota donors with a $555,000 taxpayer grant to their shady nonprofit.
“Val Hoyle can’t explain this corruption scandal away. The bipartisan passage of this bill reflects clear consensus that Hoyle’s practice of taking La Mota ‘stacks of cash’ was unethical and wrong.” – NRCC Spokesperson Ben Petersen
