California crime skyrocketed in 2022 under Mike Levin

July 5, 2023

Extreme Sacramento politicians tried to bury surging crime rates with a Friday night news dump — but there’s no ignoring the dangerous trends:

  • Violent crime surged by 6 percent in 2022
  • Property crimes surged by 6 percent in 2022
  • Murders skyrocketed 24 percent from 2017 to 2022

Despite growing crime and chaos, arrests dropped last year.

This year, Mike Levin voted for reduced penalties for violent crime, including murders, carjackings, home invasion burglaries and robberies. Levin’s stance was too extreme for even Joe Biden, Chuck Schumer and Alex Padilla.

Then Levin voted against police officers and for emboldening criminals. Last year, Levin blocked funding for local police departments.

“Southern California is getting more dangerous because of extreme politicians like Mike Levin. As crime surges, Mike Levin pushes extreme fringe policies attacking police and catering to criminals.” – NRCC Spokesperson Ben Petersen
