Crime is up and Vasquez wants police defunded

Crime is on the rise in Albuquerque and what does Gabe Vasquez want to do? Defund the police.

KOAT reports that “business owners are seeing an uptick in break-ins and burglaries,” calling it the “harsh reality” of owning a business in Albuquerque.

However, instead of standing up against crime, Vasquez thinks police are the bad guys. He has called to defund the police and he advocated against funding for the Las Cruces police department.
