NRCC Chairman Hudson Statement on Biden’s Executive Order: “Too Little, Too Late”
National Republican Congressional Committee Chairman Richard Hudson (R-NC) released the following statement on President Biden’s executive order on asylum requirements after 64 open border executive actions sent illegal crossings skyrocketing to an average of 2 million per yearduring the Biden presidency.
“After 64 open border executive actions, zero House Democratic votes for the Secure the Border Act, and two million illegal crossings per year – Joe Biden has finally woken up to the fact he has a political problem at the border. It’s too little, too late. Republicans recognize border security is an every year issue, not just an election year issue. Democrats only play politics on the border to cover up for their failures. Voters see through this transparent charade; in November they will deport House Democrats from their seats for enabling this crisis.” – NRCC Chairman Richard Hudson (R-NC)
Extreme House Democrats have opposed Republican efforts to secure the border for the entirety of this Congress, voting against:
- HR 2 Secure the Border Act
- HR 7511 Laken Riley Act
- HR 467 Halt All Lethal Trafficking Fentanyl Act
- HRes 461 Condemning the use of elementary and secondary school facilities to provide shelter for aliens who are not admitted to the United States
- HR 3941 Schools Not Shelters Act
- HR 4367 Making appropriations for the Department of Homeland Security for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2024
- HR 5283 Protecting Communities from Failure to Secure the Border Act
- HRes 957 Denouncing the Biden Administration’s open borders policies, condemning the national security crisis along the southwest border, and urging President Biden to end his administration’s open-border policies
- HR 6678 Consequences for Social Security Fraud Act
- HR 5585 Agent Raul Gonzalez Officer Safety Act
