NRCC Statement on NY-04 Primary Election

WASHINGTON – The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released the following statement on New York’s 4th Congressional district primary election:

“Retread candidate Laura Gillen has already been repeatedly rejected by Long Island voters and this November will be no different. Voters don’t want anything to do with her tax raising, defund-the-police agenda. Rep. D’Esposito has been serving Long Island for years, first as a New York Police Detective and now in Congress. Background: 

• Laura Gillen lost to now Rep. D’Esposito in 2022 by three and a half points in a district Joe Biden won by double digits. 
• Laura Gillen supported raising taxes on Nassau county families by $2 million. 
• Recent polling showed Rep. D’Esposito beating Laura Gillen by 7 points.
