- A House Democrat in a modestly Democratic-leaning district said: “I’m not a frontliner, but Trump could expand [the electoral map] to a point where I’m in a 1- or 2-point race.”
- “I’m still processing what happened. It was a terrible debate. We all have to acknowledge that.” — Highly vulnerable House Democrat Angie Craig
- “It was awful.” — Highly vulnerable House Democrat Angie Craig
- “A sense of doom,” said a House Democrat.
- “We need someone who can articulate our message and we didn’t see that last night. A lot of people are saying it… [A] majority of people I’ve spoken with today,” said one House Democrat.
- DCCC endorsed candidate Missy Cotter Smasal bailed on national Democrats’ counter-programming event to Trump’s rally in VA after Biden’s debate performance.

NRCC National Press Secretary Will Reinert said: “Vulnerable House Democrats watched their political funeral play before their very eyes at the Presidential debate Thursday night. Now their safe seat colleagues are mourning the loss of their dream of the House majority.”
