A profile in courage π

From an open letter from House Democrat frontliners that went nowhere because “no one had the balls” to put their name on it, to countless blind quotes criticizing Biden’s mental acuity, Democrats are making our point for us:
They will always put political party loyalty over the good of the country.
- “He will continue to decline, and because if he continues as our nominee we risk some catastrophic event after the convention that prohibits him from continuing as the nominee, he should step aside and allow for a nominating process at the convention in August,β said a Democratic lawmaker, who spoke on condition of anonymity to speak candidly.
- Asked whether Biden should gracefully bow out now, a moderate House Democrat replied, βyes.β
- βI hold his family and his advisers directly responsible for this mess,β the vulnerable lawmaker said in an interview. βThey are closest to him, and they should have pulled him out before this happened.β
- βItβs troubling,β a House Democrat said, adding that the White House staff should be transparent.
- A Democratic lawmaker who has been in touch with members who face competitive races this fall described them as βscared.β βThe ones that are in the worst position are front-liners in the swing states who already were feeling as though they had to carry the president β¦ and then the catch-22 of trying to go out there and campaign. β¦ Itβs hard not to be panicky,β the lawmaker said. βItβs a lot of pressure. Itβs a lot of anxiety.β
- House Democrats discussed going public with a letter on their concerns about Biden, But the frontliner effort fizzled.
- βBasically no one had the balls to run it,β the second House membersaid. βEveryone was talking about it and working each other up but nobody was actually taking the lead on it.β
NRCC National Press Secretary Will Reinert said: “The entire world knows Joe Biden isn’t fit to serve. Yet if extreme House Democrats cannot bring themself to say that publicly, why would Americans ever think they would do the right thing for the good of the country?”
