BREAKING: New poll shows Herrell leading Vasquez

A new NM-02 poll spells trouble for vulnerable incumbent Gabe Vasquez: Yvette Herrell is leading by 2 points and she’s outperforming the generic ballot by 2 points.

As National Journal reports: “This race is one of the most competitive in the country.”

These results come before voters learn about the details of Vasquez’s troubled past – from him calling a former colleague a racial slur to El Paso police executing an arrest warrant on Vasquez this past spring. As voters learn more about Vasquez’s true colors, Herrell’s lead will continue to grow.
