Emilia Sykes Betrays Ohioans
Emilia Sykes voted to shut down the federal government, betraying the Ohioans she purports to help. Now, she is trying to claim that no one is saying ‘shut down the government.’
The people of Ohio aren’t fooled by Sykes’ desperate lies and will not forget that her vote to shut down the federal government could potentially lead to these dangerous consequences for Ohioans:
- Ohioans’ safety may be threatened as law enforcement officers, members of the military, and TSA workers might not get paid.
- There are 774,935 veterans in the state that will lose out on critical programs – including employment assistance programs.
- The 5,772 federal workers in Sykes’s district may have to work WITHOUT getting paid.
- OH-13’s 1,541 farmers may not have access to financial assistance – including disaster relief.
- Millions in loan financing for Ohio’s 1.1 million small businesses will be jeopardized.
- Funding for the Head Start program – which 25,931 children in Ohio rely on – may be cut off.
This week the NRCC launched a digital ad targeting Sykes for voting to shut down the government.
