Radical Josh Riley doubles down on harmful shut down vote

Out of touch Democrat Josh Riley doubled down yesterday on his insane and dangerous vote to shut down the government, and said “Chuck Schumer was wrong” to keep the government open.

As a reminder, here’s just how harmful a shutdown would’ve been for New York families:

• New Yorkers’ safety may be threatened as law enforcement officers, members of the military, and TSA workers might not get paid.
• There are 663,437 veterans in the state that will lose out on critical programs – including employment assistance programs.
• The 5,309 federal workers in Riley’s district may have to work WITHOUT getting paid.
• NY-19’s 8,439 farmers may not have access to financial assistance – including disaster relief.
• Millions in loan financing for New York’s 2.2 million small businesses will be jeopardized.
• Funding for the Head Start program – which 38,360 children in New York rely on – may be cut off.
