Hakeem Jeffries gets tossed on the bench

House Democrats are growing increasingly frustrated with their so-called “leader,” Hakeem Jeffries — and now, even his own caucus is tossing him on the bench.

The signs of discontent are hard to miss:

• A senior House Democrat put it bluntly: “He has a lot of really good qualities. I’m not sure those qualities are well-suited for this moment.”
• “Some Democrats have privately expressed to NOTUS that the varied responses would have never happened if Pelosi were still leading the caucus.”
• A CNN/SSRS poll from March found that 30% of Democrat-aligned adults couldn’t even name a party leader who reflects their values — and Jeffries? He came in fourth place with just 6%.
