• Sykes voted against The POLICE Act, rejecting the proposal to make assaulting a police officer a deportable offense.

• Sykes was endorsed by anti-police, Planned Parenthood, anti-police Reproductive Freedom for All (NARAL), anti-police MoveOn, and anti-police Sierra Club.
