NEW: Tweet-deleting Rebecca Bennett is lying again
Tweet-deleting Rebecca Bennett is lying again on X – this time about the One Big Beautiful Bill.
Bennett has been desperately trying to accuse Republican Rep. Tom Kean of voting to cut Medicaid, but the number of people she claims will lose coverage has drastically changed over time…

“Rebecca Bennett is desperate to lie and fearmonger about Rep. Tom Kean because the truth is, Kean voted to protect Medicaid, cut taxes, and make New Jersey safer – and that kind of common sense drives Bennett crazy.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole

Democrats are struggling to message against the Republicans’ Big Beautiful Bill, and a rookie candidate in a potential swing district epitomizes the party’s struggles.
[…]
In February, Bennett claimed that “#NJ07 is home to 70,213 people who get their health care through Medicaid, including 27,444 minors, but under the current GOP budget proposal they would lose their insurance coverage.”
Last week, however, Bennett had dropped that number substantially.
“More than 16,000 people in NJ-07 could lose their healthcare because of the MAGA budget Tom Kean Jr. cast the deciding vote for,” she wrote.
[…]
Republicans, for their part, are eager to highlight Bennett’s inconsistencies.
“Tom Kean’s vote for the One Big Beautiful bill is wildly popular, prevents New Jerseyans from being slammed with a 16 percent tax hike, and stops taxpayer-funded handouts to illegal immigrants,” Maureen O’Toole, a spokeswoman at the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) told the Washington Reporter.
“Out of touch Democrat Rebecca Bennett knows this, and she’s desperately trying to distract voters with baseless lies,” O’Toole said. “Lying is officially a pattern for the tweet-deleting Bennett, and we’ll be watching for whatever dishonest tactic she tries next.”
