ICYMI: Defund-the-police McDonald Rivet refuses to stand with law enforcement
Out of touch Democrat Kristen McDonald Rivet is being called out for voting against a commonsense resolution to condemn the violent riots that took place in Los Angeles. McDonald Rivet chose to stand with the rioters and illegal immigrants instead of law and order.
Defund-the-police McDonald Rivet has a rich history of being anti-law enforcement, previously accepting $21,000 from a George Soros Defund the Police group, promoting an endorsement from Defund the Police NARAL, and claiming law enforcement was “born of a structure put in place to oppress” and needs “an overhaul now.”

During National Police Week in May, Congresswoman Kristen McDonald Rivet held a press conference to profess her support for the Boys in Blue.
“Our brave men and women in uniform put their lives on the line to protect and serve our community,” she said. “I’m very proud to stand with them … like I have my entire career.”
But when McDonald Rivet had the opportunity to express gratitude for law enforcement officers dealing with violent anti-Immigration and Customs Enforcement riots in Los Angeles, the Bay City Democrat voted nay.
And she didn’t bother to explain why on social media, or through official press statements.
House Resolution 516 outlined how the LA “protests quickly escalated into violent riots across Los Angeles, where acts of arson, widespread looting, property destruction, and vandalism were committed, blocking streets and highways, lighting streets on fire, throwing rocks at law enforcement vehicles, and assaulting Federal and local peace officers.”
Rioters have “shot commercial grade fireworks and thrown Molotov cocktails at Los Angeles Police Department officers and assaulted federal agents” while others “burned American flags, an act that disrespects the nation that protects their freedom,” the resolution read.
All Republicans and seven Democrats voted in favor of the resolution to express “gratitude to law enforcement officers, including the Los Angeles Police Department, Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol, Orange County Sheriff’s Department, and other local, State, and Federal law enforcement agencies, including the United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement for keeping our communities safe in the face of danger,” according to Fox News.
McDonald Rivet’s decision to go against law enforcement did not go unnoticed.
“Radical Kristen McDonald Rivet can’t bring herself to condemn violence and stand with the law enforcement officers risking their lives to defend our communities,” Zach Bannon, spokesman for the National Republican Congressional Committee, said in a statement. “McDonald Rivet’s out of touch vote proves once again she cares more about appeasing the radical fringe than the safety of Americans.”
