House Dems double down on soft-on-crime lunacy

September 16, 2025

Out of touch House Democrats just voted against the DC Crimes Act, once again choosing their soft-on-crime policies over protecting our nation’s communities.

The commonsense bill blocks the D.C. Council from weakening criminal sentences, ends the absurd practice of letting 24-year-old offenders be treated as “youths,” and forces transparency by requiring public reporting of youth crime data.

“This is a clear and concerning pattern: radical House Democrats will always side with their soft-on-crime, far-left base over safer communities. It’s dangerous and absurd, but par for the course for today’s Democrat Party.” — NRCC Spokesman Mike Marinella
