Nellie Pou’s Vote Puts New Jersey Families at Risk of Going Hungry

October 2, 2025

Out of touch Democrat Nellie Pou shut down the government, turning her back on moms, dads, and New Jerseyans trying to feed their families.

By forcing a shutdown, Pou jeopardized funding for food stamps and other food assistance programs, like WIC and SNAP, making it harder for New Jerseyans to put food on the table and support their families.

Bottom Line: 991,299 New Jerseyans could be going hungry because of Nellie Pou’s vote.

“Democrat Nellie Pou chose chaos over common sense. Pou’s shutdown means moms, dads, and their babies who depend on food stamps are left wondering how they’ll get their next meal. Families can’t afford Pou’s political games.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
