Long Island Workers Suffer Under Suozzi & Gillen’s Shutdown
It has officially been one week of the government shutdown and New Yorkers are feeling the pressure.
New Yorkers are losing $1.2 billion in Gross State Product each month, about $140 million worth of small business loans are getting held up, and over 115,000 workers are furloughed or working without pay.
This must end, but Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen do not care. They voted for this shut down rather than continuing to fund the government and now they’re placing blame everywhere but on themselves.
“Tom Suozzi and Laura Gillen are shameful. They voted to shut down the government and, in turn, are hurting New Yorkers. It is high time they stop playing political games with peoples’ livelihoods and work to put New Yorkers first.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Maureen O’Toole
