WASHINGTON, D.C. — The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) released an “Inside the Majority” video highlighting Representative David Valadao’s inspiring journey from working on his family’s Central Valley dairy farm to becoming one of Congress’ leading voices for California agriculture, water infrastructure, and Valley communities.

WATCH the video:

“Congressman David Valadao embodies the Central Valley, from working alongside his family on the farm to fighting for water, jobs, and economic opportunity in Congress. Rep. Valadao never forgot where he came from. While Democrats talk, Rep. Valadao delivers, and Valley families are seeing the results of his leadership every day.”– NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez

Representative Valadao is found below:

“I’m David Valadao. I represent California’s 22nd congressional district. My parents are Portuguese immigrants. They immigrated from the Azores in the late 60s, early 70s. Grew up on a farm, working alongside my family.

I think it’s important to have a farmer’s voice in Washington DC. Not just for the common sense side of it, but the fact that food is really a national security issue. […]

My biggest priority is water. Water is just essential for us in the Central Valley. A lot of people try to equate that to just the agriculture side, which it is obviously very important for us in the agriculture world, but all of our communities truly depend on water. A city can’t grow uh without a stable water supply. They can’t develop new housing. They can’t develop new infrastructure.

What motivates me is going home to the district and seeing the communities, talking to folks, and hearing some of the impacts that we’re doing for the Central Valley.

[…] we’ve brought nearly $50 million back to the valley. We were able to get a billion dollars in there for water infrastructure.

Now, we’re working on getting those dollars out to projects across the country. I’m trying to get as much as I can for the central valley, making sure that we have the ability to grow our infrastructure, meaning more reservoirs, more storage, and then obviously the conveyance, the canals that move water.

I mean, some of those investment dollars are truly having an impact across the Central Valley. And we’re really proud of that. […]”
