NRCC Launches Ad Targeting Democrat Vicente Gonzalez

June 10, 2026

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) launched a paid advertising campaign in English and Spanish highlighting Vicente Gonzalez’s record of enabling the Biden-Harris border crisis while turning his back on the Border Patrol agents and law enforcement officers working to keep the Rio Grande Valley safe.

Watch in Spanish Here:

“Out of touch Vicente Gonzalez didn’t just support the failed Biden-Harris border agenda policies that created the worst border crisis in American history,  he repeatedly turned his back on the men and women who put their lives on the line every day securing the Rio Grande Valley and protecting South Texas.” – NRCC Spokesman Christian Martinez

TRANSCRIPT:

For years, Vicente Gonzalez enabled the Biden-Harris border crisis.
He abandoned the Border Patrol protecting Texas.
Vicente Gonzalez : “I feel fully confident that the vice president is on the right track. The administration is on the right track.”
Then he voted against funding border patrol and law enforcement officers.
Shut down the government, forcing people to work without pay for 76 days.
Vicente Gonzalez. Wrong on the border. Wrong on Biden-Harris. Wrong for Texas.

ON BACKGROUND:

  • The ad highlights Gonzalez’s past support for the Biden-Harris administration’s border policies, including comments expressing confidence that then-Vice President Kamala Harris and the administration were “on the right track” despite record levels of illegal crossings at the southern border.
  • Gonzalez voted against the Big Beautiful Bill, siding with the same failed open-border agenda that fueled the Biden-Harris border crisis. Gonzalez’s vote opposed more than $90 billion in border security investments, including funding for 8,000 new Border Patrol, Customs, and immigration enforcement personnel, and $46.5 billion to finish and modernize the border wall.
  • Recent NRCC polling of likely general election voters in TX-34 found Flores holding a narrow 41%-40% advantage over Gonzalez, while nearly half of voters surveyed said they do not know Gonzalez. The polling also found voters in the district favor President Trump’s agenda over President Biden’s by a 51%-47% margin.
