Christina Bohannan votes to protect predators

June 17, 2026

While serving in the Iowa House, Christina Bohannan was one of only 12 legislators to vote to make it easier for sexual predators to remove their names from the registered sex offenders list.

When asked directly about her vote, she had no answer for Iowa families.

In Iowa, individuals on the sex offender registry face restrictions designed to protect children and communities, including limitations on being on school property, near childcare facilities, and in certain public spaces such as libraries. Bohannan voted to weaken those protections by making it easier for offenders to seek removal from the registry.

If Christina Bohannan wants to represent Iowa families in Congress, Iowans deserve to know why she supported legislation that would have made it easier for registered sex offenders to get off the registry and potentially endanger children.

“Liberal Christina Bohannan had the chance to explain to Iowa parents why she voted to make it easier for registered sex offenders to get off the registry, and she couldn’t do it. That’s because Iowa families understand what Bohannan apparently doesn’t: protecting children should come before advancing a radical agenda.” – NRCC Spokeswoman Emily Tuttle
