Joanna Mendoza Bankrolled By Soros Family While Paying Herself Plush Campaign Salary

July 13, 2026

Democrat lobbyist Joanna Mendoza bankrolled her campaign with big checks from the notorious far-left Soros family while lining her own pockets.

Meanwhile, Mendoza replaced her lobbying income by paying herself a plush salary directly from her campaign account ($35,063.82 so far in 2026).

“Democrat lobbyist Joanna Mendoza paid herself a plush campaign salary with one hand while taking Soros cash with the other, which is the ultimate corrupt Democrat scam. It’s clear Mendoza embraced her far-left financiers’ tax-hiking, defund the police, open borders policies.” – NRCC Spokesperson Ben Petersen

Arizona Democrat congressional candidates are facing scrutiny for bankrolling their campaigns with massive checks from the Soros family.

In the most recent reporting period, Federal Election Commission records reveal Congressional District 6 (AZ-06) candidate Democrat lobbyist Joanna Mendoza and Congressional District 2 (AZ-02) Democrat candidate Jonathan Nez each pocketed $14,000 from George Soros’s son Jonathan and his wife Jennifer for their 2026 races. In Congressional District 1 (AZ-01), Dr. Amish Shah grabbed $6,600 from the same Soros family members during his 2024 campaign.

“Democrats love calling themselves the party of the working class,” stated Arizona Republican Party Chairman Sergio Arellano. “That’s funny because they seem to spend a lot more time listening to radical billionaire donors than the people actually working overtime to pay the bills. Maybe that’s why hardworking Americans aren’t buying what they’re selling anymore.”

The Soros family has been accused of simultaneously funding dark money groups working to covertly manipulate Arizona voters. Republicans claim that Nez, Mendoza, and Shah are “completely owned by their Soros benefactors.”

Newly filed Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports show Mendoza spent $2,264,183 in the second quarter — a 112% burn rate — ending the quarter with $3,260,752 cash on hand. Mendoza spent more money than she brought in.

Republicans say that Mendoza owes Arizona voters answers after a new investigative report revealed that she secretly married and divorced a Syrian national under mysterious circumstances. Mendoza has not disclosed the marriage nor has she been honest about her support for transgender prostitution or forcing transgender men in girls’ sports.
